Quarry Manager RecruitmentLeeds

Looking for a quarry manager in Leeds? We don't give you candidates, we give you capacity: quarry managers on contract for immediate cover or permanent for the long term, across Leeds and Yorkshire. Typical salary £45,000 to £70,000.

The Quarry Manager Role

The Quarry Manager is the statutory duty-holder for the site under the Quarries Regulations 1999, carrying accountability for production output, health & safety, and regulatory compliance in one role. Demand is consistently high because the competence bar (MPQC/EPIC plus operational track record) is narrow and the candidate pool is ageing. Operators lose real money on every day a unit runs without a competent manager, production slips, compliance risk rises, and cover has to be bought in at a premium. ARG maps managers across hard rock, sand & gravel, and recycled aggregates nationally, giving clients both immediate interim cover and permanent succession.

Aggregates in Leeds & Yorkshire

Yorkshire is one of the UK's heartlands for hard-rock quarrying and aggregates, with a dense cluster of gritstone and limestone operations, asphalt coating plants and ready-mix networks across West and North Yorkshire. Leeds sits at the commercial centre of it, so demand runs across the full stack, quarry management, plant maintenance, controls and surfacing, and the ageing workforce makes experienced operational hires genuinely hard to secure.

Typical Qualifications & Tickets

  • MPQC / EPIC Quarry Manager competence
  • Shotfiring & explosives awareness
  • NEBOSH / IOSH
  • Statutory duties under the Quarries Regulations 1999
