The Shotfirer / Driller Role
Drill-and-blast is one of the most licence-constrained roles in the sector: a Shotfirer must hold a recognised certificate of competence and work to a tightly regulated shot plan. The pool of ticketed shotfirers is small and concentrated around hard-rock regions, so operators frequently need mobile or contract cover to keep the face advancing.
